#1 - Happy voting system 😅

Here's a voting system that feels a little wrong. But also quite right. The happy voting system.

What if the winners of elections were the ones who brought the most happiness to the nation? What if, instead of having to chose a single candidate, we had express how we feel towards each of them?

The range of emotions could go from very angry to very happy. For each emotion, a score would be attributed. Say there were 7 emotions, then the scores could be -3,- 2,-1, 0, 1, 2 and 3.

The happiness score for each candidate is simply the average score they've received.

The election winner would be the candidate with the highest happiness score.

In other words, happy voting tries to maximize the nation's expected happiness.

Is this a good voting system? What would really happen if it were adopted?

I'm not really sure, and so far I don't endorse this system except for enlightened and utopian societies 😅

Overall, it seems that most people wouldn't vote accordingly to their real feelings, and the system would just morph into a blend of ranked voting, approval voting or majority voting, all seasoned with some emotional realism.

Nonetheless, elections would be pretty funny... maybe.
